Warm Up With an Antioxidant Treat

Step aside, pumpkin spice lattes. A 100% natural drink is moving in on your warm beverage turf this fall. Turmeric lattes are an excellent alternative to coffee, hot chocolate, or any other cold-weather beverage that is essentially funneling sugar down your throat. While still sweet and warm, turmeric lattes are full of antioxidants that fight free-radicals in your body and help you stay healthy.

The Benefits of Turmeric:

Including turmeric in your diet is one of the greatest things you can do for your body. It has been a part of the Indian culture for centuries, having uses for everything from mixing into curries to topical application to help brides glow before their weddings. The reasons for its prevalence in southeast asia are numerous, simply because of all the health benefits the spice brings. Consuming turmeric lowers cholesterol, gets rid of headaches, reduces inflammation, has anti-ageing properties, lowers your risk of heart disease, and reduces your blood sugar.

This recipe comes from my mom, who makes this for me whenever I have a headache. I like to drink it at night because it helps me fall asleep, but you can really have it any time. Use all-natural, high quality ingredients to truly reap the benefits. Your body will thank you!

Turmeric Latte

1 teaspoon of turmeric powder

1 cup of almond milk

½ teaspoon of ginger powder

1 tablespoon of pure honey

½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Dash of vanilla extract


Warm up almond milk on stovetop. Stir in turmeric powder, cinnamon, and ginger powder. Stir in honey. Add vanilla extract. Pour into mug and serve hot. Top with just a sprinkle of cinnamon.
